WHO IS MY CLIENT?
Great question! It's taken me a long time to realize that I am not the photographer for everyone. And that's ok! I want you to get photos that you LOVE, so it's important that our styles go together. My style is untraditional. My goal is to capture real life, your life, as it is happening. The love, the magic, the imperfections and messes. All of it. Because it is your life, and it deserves to be remembered just how it is. So, if you're looking for the perfect Christmas card photo, I might not be the photographer for you. If you are looking for authenticity, fun and somebody to capture your perfect everyday, then you should contact me...like, now.
HOW MUCH DO THINGS COST?
Another great question! If you click on the details tab above, you'll find my pricing in the Investments section. Why do I price my sessions like this? Quite simply, I've walked away from too many sessions where the family wanted to buy more photos, but just couldn't for one reason or another. I really believe that you should walk away with a complete set of photos, not just 3 or 7 or 15. It's your story, and I want you to have the whole darn thing.
WHERE DOES MY SESSION TAKE PLACE?
Your session will take place at a location of your choosing. It can be in your home, or someplace meaningful to you and your family. Remember, I'm trying to tell your story, so it seems silly if I tell you where to go. I am more than happy to provide some location ideas, but typically families have places that are near and dear to them. If you book a newborn session, it will take place in your home.
WHAT WILL MY SESSION BE LIKE?
It will be fun! Seriously, I aim to make sure that everybody has a good time. We can do anything that your family loves to do, whether it is going to get ice cream, walking through your neighborhood or playing at the beach, I want you to be comfortable and relaxed so your real personality comes out. I realize that kids will be kids and they hardly like sitting still for a portrait (I have two girls of my own), so why try to make them? Our session will last between 1 to 2 hours. I typically like to shoot around golden hour (about 2 hours before sunset) but that doesn't always have to be the case. And don't worry, I love to be involved in the planning of the session.
WHAT TYPE OF CAMERA DO YOU USE?
Oooh, now we are getting to the good stuff (insert heart eye emoji here)! I kinda sorta have a love affair with cameras. I'll bring my Canon 5D Mark iii, my Mark ii (for backup), and depending on the style of images you want, possibly one of my film cameras. For film I shoot with a Pentax 645n and a Canon EOS 3. I also have a fun Holga and a Polaroid camera that I sometimes bring.
