Maier Family
I have failed to share this session on my blog! It was featured over on Little Bellows a few months ago, and I can't believe I have yet to blog about it over here. It was such a fun little session that took me back to my hometown. It was such a gorgeous evening and this family was so much fun to hang out with and document them loving on each other. #film #pentax645n #Portra400 #lifestyle #families

12 months of film: April
Wow I'm behind. I didn't realize I hadn't shared any of my April film photos! EEK! Here are a few that I absolutely loved. Our driveway truly is our hang out spot when warm weather strikes, so I'm glad that my kids don't me playing with them with a camera in my hand! These were shot on Portra 400, Pentax 645n (with my 75mm FA lens) and developed and scanned by the Find Lab. #drivewaydiaries #pentax645n #film #Portra400

SEE Palm Springs
So I've mentioned a few times that a couple weeks ago I was lucky enough to attend SEE Palm Springs which was put on by The Bloom Forum. It was an amazing experience. I've never attended a photography workshop before, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew it would have all my favorite things included, but it would definitely be out of my comfort zone. I tend to really enjoy hanging out at home, or being out and about with my family. But flying to Palm Springs solo, an

This spring has really been something. I mean, these flowers are to die for, and it doesn't hurt that these two had me laughing so hard during their session. I had such a great time and it was sooo good to see these two! They are going to be amazing parents. Can't wait for the new addition! *most of the images below were shot on film - Portra 400 or Fuji 400H on my Pentax 645n. #Portra400 #pentax645n #Fuji400h #film #maternity

12 months of film: March
So I shot my very first rolls of film for a client session - I should be getting the scans back tomorrow. I reeeaaaallllly hope they turn out. In the mean time, here are a few film images from March. These were all shot on Portra 400 on my Pentax 645n, developed and scanned by the fine folks at The Find Lab. Man I love this camera... #Portra400 #film #drivewaydiaries #personal #pentax645n

Mexico on film
As if you haven't seen enough of our trip to Mexico...right. Sorry, here's more. These are a few of my favorite shots from our film that we shot in Mexico. And when I specifically say film, that means there are also digital images I haven't shared yet too. Yeah, so you'll be seeing vacation photos for the next 6 months. Because we don't go on vacation that often...so I relive the warm sun through my photos. You can thank me later:) These were all shot on my Pentax 645N

Palms of Mexico
What is it about palm trees that makes you want to photograph them all day? I'm sure it's because we don't have any here in Seattle, so they are definitelya novelty to me. And I just love how they photograph on film - they are so gorgeous and rich in texture. Here are a couple from our recent trip, all shot on film with either my Pentax 645N or my Canon EOS 3. These are a variety of film stocks as well, either Fuji 400H, Portra 400 or Ektar. Everything except for the Ekt

12 Months of Film: February
I got these scans back while I was away on vacation with my family. Which was agony because I couldn't download them for a week. All I had was the email from the lab with feedback about my exposure, focusing, etc. and I had no idea what images they were referencing. But I was pleasantly suprised when I downloaded them as my exposures were pretty good. Much improved over the last few rolls I had sent in. And mind you, I've been shooting without a handheld light meter. Wh

12 Months of Film: January
This month I embarked on my film journey (medium format film journey). Can I just say, I am in love. I am absolutely loving this process. It's so unexpected. It's slow. It's thoughtful. It's hard. I can't tell you how many of my images from my first roll off my medium format camera came back blurry...hello manual focus, nice to meet you. I am so excited to see what this journey brings. So, here are a few images. Some are medium format, shot on my Pentax 645N. Some

abc's & 123's on film
As I mentioned in my projects post earlier, film is a medium that I am tackling this year. Here are a couple of images off my first roll. If you're just learning about film, like I am, you know its super tough, but also super fun. It's so exciting not knowing how your image turned out, it really makes you understand the relationship between all your settings. I'm loving it. I just sent off 4 rolls for developing and am going crazy waiting for the scans! These were shot o
